Sidankar, croisé sur la route m’a menée jusque là. Venu d’Afghanistan, il est à Calais depuis 3 ans, parle français et veut y rester. Il a été dans plusieurs pays et c’est ici, dit-il, qu’il préfère. Il emmène un peu d'argent à un petit cousin qui voudrait aller en Angleterre. Pendant que je danse, les regards sont amusés, curieux ou sympathiques. On s'attroupe. Un homme au pantalon à motifs de camouflage vient vers moi, il regarde la caméra. L'homme au bonnet qui vient ensuite a un regard bleu clair qui semble avoir connu mille vies. Ses mains sont si chaudes. Après ma danse, Fatawu, du Ghana, Kalid et Aman, d’Ethiopie, viennent me parler. Ils sont là depuis trois mois, ils disent que c’est dur de trouver un endroit pour dormir avec ce froid. Il manquent aussi de médicaments. Un homme indien me demande : « What style is this dancing ? I love that. ». Fatawu et Kalid me demandent si je peux danser à nouveau.

His hands are so warm. After my dance, Fatawu, from Ghana, Kalid and Aman, from Ethiopia, come to speak to me. They say it’s hard to find a place to sleep with that weather. There’s also a medicine shortage. An indian man asks me : « What style is this dancing ? I love that. ». Fatawu and Kalid ask me If I could dance again.
